Easy way to deal with Gekkos
I doubt it works on the other difficulties, I only tried it on Revengeance
Gekkos are pretty intimidating when playing as Sam, their attack rate was increased like crazy compared to Raiden's campaign and it can be very difficult to deal with them without getting hit or dying. So here's an easy way to stun them:
1. Taunt (try to stay close to them and...) 2. Dodge 3. Forward - Forward + Heavy attack 4. Dodge 5. Run + Light attack (the Gekko will ALWAYS get dizzy at this point if you followed my instructions) and immediately after... 6. Light attack x1 + Heavy attack (hold and release)
The Gekko will get stunned, and if your Fuel Cell Meter is full (this is very important, don't forget about this) you will be able to perform a finisher QTE
So that's one way to do it and this 100% guarantee (as long as you followed the instructions; this is a sort of pattern or "cycle" to perform, if you hit the Gekko one time too many then the cycle is broken), although I know another technique but it's kinda risky and doesn't work every time. Just remember this: Gekkos are super dumb, their attacks are telegraphed like crazy and they get always get dazed (not stunned, dazed) after 4 or 5 hits, so keep up the pressure, they really aren't that hard to deal with once you know them.
At least it's better than fishing for parry-counters ad nauseam

Long range Blade Mode spine grabbing A trick I discovered a while ago, I don't know if it was either fully intended or if it's a bug in Sam's Blade Mode mechanic.

Air charge attack glitch
Find an enemy that's above you, like on a ledge or a platform (see first video for reference, it can be done pretty much anywhere in the game like in the first sewer area, the room before fighting Wolf, the elevator with the 2 Raptors and soldier, etc.)
Lock onto enemy Jump Hold the heavy attack button then release (you can hold the heavy button all the way) Mash jump If your timing is right, Sam's x/y axis will get all messed up
It's really easy to reproduce the glitch against Ray since his hitbox is huge.
The glitch resets when you get hit, taunt, attack, enter blade mode or air dash. You can still use subweapons, dodge, jump and double jump.
